Claudia Cantale

Claudia Cantale, PhD in Cultural Heritage Studies. She got her PhD with a thesis titled Studiare il patrimonio culturale nella contemporaneità. le Digital Humanities come programma di ricerca: un modello concettuale per il Monastero dei Benedettini di Catania. Her research focuses on the study of Digital Humanities, particularly dealing with the reuse of architectural heritage and archives. She has already published some articles in journals related to this field and taken part in some conferences, among which the AIUCD yearly conference (Venice, 2016). She is currently Teaching Assistant in Sociologia dei Processi Culturali e Comunicativi and in Sociologia dei Media Digitali for Prof. Davide Bennato’s chair. She graduated from the formerly Faculty of Humanities in Communication Cultures and Languages in 2012 with a final dissertation on the use of new technologies for the cultural heritage fruition. Also, she attended the School of Advanced Studies Edoardo Garrone “Turismo Culturale per lo sviluppo del territorio” (Syracuse, 2011) and the Sole 24 Formazione Postgraduate Specialisation in “Management dell’Arte e dei servizi per i Beni Culturali” (2013).
She is founder member and worker at Officine Culturali, an organization aiming at the enhancement of cultural heritage and its instructive services since 2010. She is the Communication and Planning Department Manager.
In 2017 she published La gentilezza e la rabbia. 105 lettere di Giancarlo De Carlo sul recupero del Monastero dei Benedettini di Catania (2017), edited with Antonino Leonardi which collects the long mail of the architect who followed the renovation of the Monastery.
